Mango Tiger: Serving The World, From One Family to Another

There is something different about this charity.

We are here to serve others. How do we do that? We redistribute sustainable material goods. What does this mean? It means that we are taking material goods, such as clothing, bags, shoes, blankets and books and simply shifting the ownership of these items. For example: children in western countries such as America, go through on average 5 pairs of shoes a year and spend an average on $2000 on clothing alone, most of which sits in the closet when outgrown, or sadly thrown away. In the mountainous regions of Northern India $0 is spent on average per child per year on clothing. How is this possible? Hand-me-downs from generations and tons of mending. It also means worn out materials that cannot keep children warm, and usually one garment per child, ie no jackets, hats, gloves, socks, scarves etc in 0 degree weather.

Mango Tiger wants to be the catalyst for redistribution.

What we aim to do is take unwanted, and unworn childrens items primarily jackets, beanies, scarves, gloves, socks, shoes, sweaters, hoodies and send them to India. The children are shivering and in 2013 we need to worry about eduction, not clothing,  with an over abundance of clothes here, why not give, there? We are also taking everyday childrens items and items for grown ups, such as back packs, purses, jeans, t-shirts, long sleeves, sandals, hygeine products, blankets, pillows, underwear (new), and beauty products. All of these items are things that the mountain people will treasure and will last them a lifetime, whereas we don't think twice about tossing these old things. Please help us by donating these items and including a small monetary gift so that we can make it possible to ship it to these remote areas.
